BMW X5 G05 • X6 G06 • X5 M F95 • X6 M F96 • Competition • xDrive30d • xDrive40i • xDrive45e • M50i • M50d • Pre-LCI 2018–2023 (LED, Adaptive LED, Laserlight) • LCI 2023+ (Standard LED) • EU & US
The 2023 facelift gave the X5 and X6 one change everybody noticed: the corona rings went, and in their place came two outward-pointing arrows — the Snake-Eye daytime running light. It's the single detail that separates a current X5 from a 2019 one at a glance. These headlights put that signature on the pre-LCI cars, inside a housing that keeps the original outline, so the facelift look goes on without touching the bumper.
The same headlight is also built in the facelift outline — for the 2023+ cars that came with the standard LED headlights, and for pre-LCI cars running the LCI front bumper. Whichever outline you choose, you get blue inlays like the factory Matrix headlights (illumination can be disabled), a choice of fixed white or switchable white / CSL yellow DRL, and the automatic leveling motor built in. Every LED driver and control module is inside. Plugs into the factory harness, no coding — pre-LCI LED, Adaptive LED and Laserlight cars alike.
Fits the BMW X5 G05, X6 G06, X5 M F95 and X6 M F96: all pre-LCI cars (2018–2023), and LCI cars (2023+) with the standard LED headlights. Not for LCI cars with the optional Adaptive LED headlights with Matrix function.

Four Starting Points, One Headlight
Whatever your X5 or X6 left the factory with, the result is the facelift signature.
Pre-LCI → LCI look
Pre-LCI to LCI headlight conversion — no bumper change
The 2023 arrow DRL built into a housing with the 2018–2023 outline. Bolts to the original mounting points behind the original bumper. The one LCI conversion that doesn't start with a new front end.
Laserlight → LCI look
Laserlight cars, same plug
Already on Laserlight (5AZ)? The harness is covered. You keep blue accents in the housing, gain the arrow DRL, and get the switchable yellow the factory never offered — no module transfer, no coding.
LCI standard LED → Matrix look
2023+ cars with standard LED headlights
On the LCI, blue inlays came only with the optional Matrix headlights. The LCI-outline version drops straight into a standard-LED car and adds them — plus the CSL yellow DRL.
Full LCI front end
LCI bumper conversion
Converting a pre-LCI car to the complete facelift front? The LCI-outline version is the headlight that bumper is shaped around — the factory LCI geometry, on your pre-LCI harness.
Step 1 — Is This Your Headlight?
One electrical version covers all of these. Nothing to select here — just confirm yours is on the list.
Pre-LCI LED & Adaptive LED
2018–2023. Corona-ring DRL, no blue inside the housing. Standard LED or Adaptive LED (552) — both take the same version.
Not for LCI Matrix headlightsOn the facelift, BMW's optional headlight is the Adaptive LED with Matrix function — the non-dazzling high beam (Selective Beam), option 552 on an LCI vehicle order, standard on US-market LCI cars. That unit uses a different harness and isn't covered. If your 2023+ car has the glare-free high beam that masks oncoming traffic, you have the Matrix headlights.
Pre-LCI: LED or Adaptive LED makes no differenceOn the 2018–2023 cars, standard LED and Adaptive LED (552) look identical from the outside, and here it doesn't matter — one version plugs into either harness. Laserlight is easy to spot: blue accents and "BMW Laser" lettering on the inner trim. Our headlight identification guide covers the option codes, or send us your VIN.

Step 2 — Select Your Housing Outline
The facelift headlight is 35 mm slimmer than the original, and the LCI bumper rises to meet it. The two outlines are not interchangeable — choose by the bumper on the car, not the model year.
Pre-LCI Bumper Outline
For 2018–2023 cars keeping their original bumper.
The facelift DRL signature inside the original housing shape. Bolts to the factory points, sits flush with the pre-LCI bumper and fenders. The direct-fit choice for most pre-LCI owners.
LCI Bumper Outline
For 2023+ cars, and pre-LCI cars fitted with the LCI front bumper.
The true facelift geometry. Direct fit on an LCI car with standard LED headlights; on a pre-LCI car it completes a full LCI front-end conversion — the electronics still plug into your pre-LCI harness.
Step 3 — Choose Your DRL
Same arrow signature, same blue inlays. The difference is whether you can switch the DRL color.
White
The factory facelift appearance.
Fixed white DRL (~6,000K). The car reads as a 2023+ X5 and nothing more needs explaining.
White + Yellow
The CSL signature, on demand.
Flash the high beams 6× for CSL Yellow (~3,000K), 5× to return to White. Ships in White; the headlight remembers your choice through ignition cycles.
DRL Color Switching — White + Yellow Version
From the driver's seat with the high-beam stalk — no app, no remote, no switch in the engine bay. The headlight remembers your selection through ignition cycles.
Switch to Yellow: flash high beams 6×
Switch back to White: flash high beams 5×
The blue inlays — illuminated or not, your callThe blue inlays are a physical trim detail, present with the lights on or off. Their illumination is optional: leave it enabled and the inlays glow blue alongside the DRL, as on the factory Laserlight and Matrix headlights; disable it and they stay as an unlit blue accent — handy for an inspection, or anywhere blue forward lighting draws attention. Reversible at any time without opening the headlight.
Engineered to Stay on the Car
LED, Adaptive LED, Laserlight & LCI LED — Zero Coding
The electronics speak the G05's CAN network the way the factory headlights do — on the pre-LCI LED, Adaptive LED and Laserlight harness, and on the LCI standard-LED harness, in European and North American spec. No cable, no laptop session, no dealer visit, no error codes.
The Facelift Signature, Without the Facelift Bumper
Most LCI conversions begin with a new front bumper and the labor to fit it. The pre-LCI outline version puts the arrow DRL inside the original housing shape, so the look goes on in one afternoon with the car otherwise untouched — and comes off the same way.
Blue Inlays, Like the Matrix Headlights
On the LCI, the blue accents inside the housing mark the optional Matrix headlights; on the pre-LCI, they marked Laserlight. Every version here carries them, with the illumination switchable — the top-spec cue on a car that came without it.
Auto-Leveling Retained
An integrated leveling motor adjusts beam height with vehicle load, exactly as your factory units did. Tow, load the boot, carry five: the beam stays where it should.
Ships Complete — Nothing to Transfer
Every LED driver, DRL board, control module and the leveling motor are inside the housing. No modules to unbolt from your factory units — they come off intact, ready for a lease return or resale.
Full LED — Instant-On
Low beam, high beam, DRL and indicators are all LED, with full output the moment you turn the key. On Adaptive LED cars the factory beam swivel and matrix high beam are replaced by a fixed, wide beam pattern; on Laserlight cars the laser high-beam booster is replaced by LED high beam.
X5, X6 and the M Cars — Same Mounting Points
BMW fits the same headlights to the X5 G05, X6 G06, X5 M F95 and X6 M F96 — before and after the facelift. Each outline version mounts on the factory points of all four; no trim adapters.
2-Year Warranty
ABS housings with PMMA lenses, sealed against moisture at every joint. Every pair is bench-tested before shipping and covered for two years from delivery.
Installation
A headlight swap requiring front bumper removal — standard on the G05 and G06. No wiring modifications, no coding. Allow 2–3 hours; a shop will quote around two hours.
- Remove the front bumper: the fasteners along the top edge under the hood, the screws inside the wheel arches, and the undertray clips. Disconnect the fog light, sensor, camera and washer-jet connections before pulling the bumper forward.
- Unbolt the factory headlights and disconnect the main harness plug.
- Plug the new headlight into your factory harness — the same connector whether the car is LED, Adaptive LED, Laserlight or LCI standard LED.
- Decide whether the blue inlay illumination stays enabled before closing up. It can be changed later.
- Test before reassembly — low beam, high beam, DRL, indicators, the 6×/5× color switch on the dual-color version, and the leveling sweep when you switch the ignition on.
- Reinstall the bumper and set the baseline beam height with the adjusters — our headlight aiming guide covers the procedure. The auto-leveling works from that baseline.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes — that's what the pre-LCI outline version is for. It carries the 2023 arrow DRL and blue inlays inside a housing with the 2018–2023 shape, so it bolts to the factory points behind your original bumper. No bumper, grille or fender work.
The LCI bumper outline. The facelift headlight is 35 mm slimmer and the LCI bumper is shaped around it; the LCI-outline version gives you that factory geometry while the electronics plug into your pre-LCI harness — LED, Adaptive LED or Laserlight.
Yes, if the car has the standard LED headlights — choose the LCI outline. It does not fit LCI cars with the optional Adaptive LED headlights with Matrix function, which use a different harness.
The Matrix headlights bring the non-dazzling high beam (Selective Beam) — the high beam stays on and masks out oncoming cars. They're option 552 on an LCI vehicle order and standard on US-market LCI cars; on European cars they were optional, often with M Sport Pro. If in doubt, send us your VIN.
Yes. The Laserlight harness is covered by the same version — plug in, no coding, no module transfer. The laser high-beam booster is replaced by LED high beam; you keep blue accents in the housing and gain the arrow DRL and the switchable yellow.
No. One version plugs into either harness. On Adaptive LED cars, the factory beam swivel and matrix high beam are replaced by a fixed, wide beam pattern; auto-leveling is retained on both.
Yes. BMW fits the same headlights to the X5, X6, X5 M and X6 M — both before and after the facelift. Same outline, same mounting points, same harness; choose the outline by the bumper on the car.
No. One version fits European and North American cars. Every US-market pre-LCI G05 and G06 came with Adaptive LED or Laserlight, and both harnesses are covered.
Yes. "Snake-Eye" and "arrow DRL" both describe the two outward-pointing daytime running light elements BMW introduced with the 2023 X5 and X6 facelift. "LCI-style" or "facelift-look" headlights are the same signature on a pre-LCI car.
Yes. The inlays' illumination is optional: enabled, they glow blue alongside the DRL; disabled, they remain an unlit blue accent. You can change it any time without opening the headlight.
On the dual-color version, from the driver's seat: flash the high beams 6× for CSL Yellow, 5× to return to White. The headlight remembers your selection through ignition cycles. The White version has a fixed DRL.
Yes. The leveling motor is integrated and adjusts beam height with load — the same behavior as the factory headlights. You set the baseline once with the adjusters; the car handles the rest.
Shape. This headlight carries the 2023 facelift arrow DRL, in your choice of pre-LCI or LCI outline. Our laser-style Shadow Line headlights keep the pre-LCI corona-ring signature and add the Laserlight blue inlays with a darkened finish. Both fit the same cars.
Nothing. LED drivers, DRL boards, control modules and the leveling motor are all inside the new housing. Your factory headlights stay fully intact.
Yes, if you're comfortable removing the front bumper on the G05. Standard hand tools, 2–3 hours, no lift required. Beam aiming afterwards takes a few minutes with the adjusters.
