CSL White/Yellow Switchable DRL Modules — BMW 4 Series, M3 & M4 (F32/F33/F36/F80/F82/F83)
Switchable White/Yellow DRL with Auto Day/Night Mode — Pre-Installed Heatsinks — Plug-and-Play — Adaptive LED Icon Headlight (S552A) — 2017–2020
F32 Coupe • F33 Convertible • F36 Gran Coupe • F80 M3 • F82 M4 • F83 M4 • Adaptive LED Icon (S552A) • 2017–2020
The M4 CSL made one detail impossible to unsee — the yellow DRL strip. These modules bring that signature to the LCI Icon headlight, switchable from the high-beam lever in under two seconds. Run a smart auto mode that shows Yellow by day and White at night, lock in either color full-time, or unlock ambient breathing for parked display. White matches your factory DRL color temperature — the car looks stock until you decide otherwise.
Fits the Adaptive LED Icon headlight (option S552A) only. Covers EU and US market vehicles.
Is This Your Headlight?
These modules fit the Adaptive LED Icon headlight — BMW option S552A — introduced with the 2017+ LCI facelift. The giveaway is the angular, geometric DRL shape (below) combined with beams that swivel when you turn the steering wheel at night. If your headlights have the older round "angel eye" rings, or static beams that don't swivel, these modules are not compatible.

Complete modules, not bare boards.
Each Eleron module arrives as a finished assembly — LED board bonded to its own aluminum heatsink with thermal interface pre-applied. The install is clean mechanical work: three T20 screws, unplug, swap, bolt. Your factory modules come out untouched and stay factory-correct in a drawer, so the upgrade is fully reversible whenever you want. No separating boards from heatsinks, no thermal paste, no board-level work.
DRL Color Switching & Modes
All switching is done with the high-beam lever while low beams are off. Flash the high beams the specified number of times. The module remembers your selection through ignition cycles.
-
Manual Color Toggle
Flash high beams 3× — switches between solid White and solid Yellow DRL. Your choice stays set day and night. -
Auto Day/Night Mode MOST POPULAR
Flash high beams 5× — smart switching based on your low beams. Yellow DRL when low beams are off (daytime), White DRL when low beams come on (night driving). The CSL look when people see it; factory-matching white whenever you're running headlights. -
Strobe
Flash high beams 7× — a left-right progressive strobe in your current DRL color. Flash 7× again to switch the strobe to the other color. A show mode, not for road use. -
Ambient Breathing
Flash high beams 11× — a slow, subtle pulse where the DRL dims in and out. Best used while parked or at idle — not intended for driving. -
Reset to Default
Flash high beams 9× — resets all settings and returns the module to factory White DRL.
White is the default daily — matching factory DRL color temperature so the car looks stock at a glance. Yellow is the occasion setting. Auto mode gives you both, driven by your headlights. Strobe and Breathing are show modes for parked or idle display.
Built for the Icon Headlight
Plug-and-Play — Zero Coding
Designed for the LCI Icon Adaptive LED headlight. Connects to your factory controller and wiring — no coding, no CAN adapters, no error codes. Your BMW doesn't know anything changed.
AFS & Welcome Light — Untouched
The DRL module never touches the adaptive beam steering or welcome light systems. S552A cornering logic, beam swiveling, welcome sequence, turn signal integration — all preserved exactly as BMW engineered them.
Fully Reversible
Factory modules come out intact and go in a drawer. If you ever want to return to stock — lease, sale, dealer visit — bolt them back in. Ten minutes, same three screws.
2-Year Warranty
Two years of coverage from delivery date on every set.
Installation
Under 30 minutes. No bumper removal required — the DRL modules sit on top of the Icon headlight housings and are reached from the engine bay after removing the upper covers.
Three T20 Torx screws hold each factory module in place. Back them out, lift the module up and angle it to unplug, set it aside. Plug the new Eleron module into the same connector, seat it in position, reinstall the three screws. Test White and Yellow DRL, confirm welcome light and turn signals, then reinstall the engine covers. Done.
Tools: T20 Torx bit, trim removal tool for the engine covers.
Frequently Asked Questions
No. These modules are made specifically for the Adaptive LED Icon headlight (S552A) — the one with the geometric DRL shape and AFS beam swiveling. The standard non-adaptive LED headlight uses a different DRL design, and even if a module fit physically, it wouldn't give you the CSL Icon look that's the whole point of the upgrade.
Yes. All F32-platform body styles (F32 Coupe, F33 Convertible, F36 Gran Coupe) and the F80 M3 / F82 M4 / F83 M4 use the same LCI Icon Adaptive LED headlight when equipped with S552A.
No. These are for LCI Icon headlights only — the geometric DRL shape from the 2017+ facelift. Pre-LCI headlights use a different internal DRL design that isn't compatible.
No. The DRL modules are on top of the Icon housings and accessible from the engine bay after removing the upper engine covers.
No. The modules work with your factory headlight controller and draw the same current as the original DRL. No coding needed.
White is the daily — calibrated to match the factory DRL color temperature, so the car looks stock at a glance. Yellow is the occasion setting: shows, meets, photography, track days. Or skip the choice entirely with Auto Day/Night Mode — Yellow DRL when your low beams are off (daytime), White DRL when headlights come on (night). That's what most owners end up using.
