Laser-Look CSL LED Headlights — BMW 3 Series (G20/G21)
Laser-Look Upgrade with GTS/CSL Switchable DRL — Cornering Lights & Auto-Leveling — Standard & Adaptive LED — 2019–2022
BMW G20 Sedan • G21 Touring • 320i • 330i • M340i • Standard LED (5A2) • Adaptive LED (552) • Pre-LCI • 2019–2022
The Laserlight was the headlight BMW put on the press cars. It was the top-tier option, the one that made the G20 look like the brochure — and the one most owners either didn't spec or couldn't get on the used market. These Laser-Look headlights give you that housing shape with something the factory Laserlight never offered: a switchable CSL/GTS DRL in up to three colors.
This is a direct upgrade for both Standard LED (5A2) and Adaptive LED (552) G20/G21 models. LED projectors, integrated cornering lights (a feature Standard LED cars gain for the first time), auto-leveling, and zero coding. Available in three DRL configurations — the only decision is how many colors you want and whether you prefer to reuse your factory modules or go fully plug-and-play.
E-Marked (ECE) — road-legal in White DRL mode.
Does not fit Laserlight (5AZ) vehicles.
Step 1 — Standard LED or Adaptive LED?
Check your vehicle order (VO) code or look at the headlight behavior: adaptive headlights swivel the beam when you turn the steering wheel at night.

Step 2 — Choose Your DRL Configuration
All three give you the same Laser-Look housing. The difference is DRL color count, module setup, and AFS support.
White
The clean OEM look.
Fixed white Laser look. Reuse your factory modules (5 min per side). Retains AFS.
White + Yellow
The CSL signature.
Switchable White/Yellow. Reuse your factory modules (5 min per side). Retains AFS.
White + Yellow + Amber
Full plug-and-play.
Three DRL colors. Modules pre-installed — no module transfer needed.

Why reuse your factory modules?
Your original headlight modules are already paired to your car's computer. By taking 5 minutes to unbolt them from the back of your factory headlights and bolt them into the new housings, your BMW doesn't even know the headlights were changed. Zero coding, zero dashboard errors, and — on Adaptive LED (552) cars — your AFS steering logic is perfectly preserved. Three screws per side and basic hand tools. That's it.
The White+Yellow+Amber version takes a different approach: it ships with its own modules that emulate the factory CAN-bus signals, so there's nothing to transfer at all. The trade-off is that AFS beam swiveling is not retained — you get a fixed wide-angle beam pattern with cornering lights instead. If you'd rather skip the 10-minute module transfer entirely, this is the version to choose.
DRL Color Switching
Toggle between DRL colors using your high-beam lever. The headlight retains your selection through ignition cycles.
-
White + Yellow:
Flash high beams 5× to toggle between White and Yellow. -
White + Yellow + Amber:
5× → White · 6× → Yellow · 7× → Amber
White DRL is the E-Marked road-legal mode. Yellow and Amber are switchable for personal use — White mode should be active for inspections.
Engineered to Stay on the Car
Laser-Look Upgrade — Standard & Adaptive LED — Zero Coding
This is the Laser-Look housing that was only available as the top-tier 5AZ option from the factory — now as a direct-fit upgrade for both Standard LED (5A2) and Adaptive LED (552) G20/G21 models. All three DRL configurations are plug-and-play with zero coding on any version.
Cornering Lights on Every Version
All three DRL configurations include a static inner LED that activates with the turn signal — illuminating the inside of the corner as you turn. If your car has Standard LED (5A2) headlights, this is a functional upgrade you didn't have before.
LED Projectors with Auto-Leveling
Full LED projectors with a sharp cutoff line and wide, even coverage. The integrated auto-leveling motor adjusts beam height based on vehicle load — the same system your factory headlights use.
E-Marked (ECE)
Every unit carries ECE certification covering the full assembly. Road-legal in White DRL mode for TÜV, MOT, and EU periodic inspections.
Sealed Construction
ABS housings with PMMA lenses, sealed against moisture at every joint. Every pair is bench-tested before shipping.
2-Year Warranty
Two years of coverage from delivery date.
Installation
Front bumper removal is required — standard on the G20. No wiring modifications, no coding on any version. Allow 2–3 hours total.
- Remove the front bumper to access the headlight mounting bolts.
- Unbolt the factory headlights and disconnect the main harness plug.
- White / White+Yellow only: Unbolt the electronic modules from the back of your factory headlights and bolt them into the new housings (~5 minutes per side). Skip this step for the tri-color version — modules are pre-installed.
- Plug the new headlight into your factory harness.
- Test before reassembly — verify low beam, high beam, DRL color(s), cornering light, indicators, and DRL switching.
- Reinstall the bumper, align beam height using the integrated adjusters.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. The G20 Sedan and G21 Touring share identical headlight mounting points and connectors.
The housing shape is the Laser-Look design that was exclusive to the 5AZ option from the factory. The internal optics are LED projectors rather than BMW's laser+LED hybrid module — which means you get the same visual presence with the added benefit of switchable CSL/GTS DRL colors that the real 5AZ never offered.
Yes. This is the direct path from Standard LED (5A2) or Adaptive LED (552) to the Laser-Look housing — plug-and-play, no coding, no retrofitting of factory Laserlight modules or wiring. You also gain cornering lights if your car has Standard LED.
Yes. All three versions include a static inner LED that activates with the turn signal. Standard LED cars gain this as a new feature.
On the White and White+Yellow versions, yes — your original modules keep the factory AFS steering logic intact. The tri-color version does not retain AFS beam swiveling; it includes cornering lights instead.
The White+Yellow+Amber. Its modules are pre-installed and emulate the factory CAN-bus signals — nothing to transfer, nothing to unbolt. If you have Adaptive LED (552) and want to keep AFS, the White+Yellow version is the better fit — the module swap takes 5 minutes per side and preserves everything.
No. Laserlight vehicles use a different connector that is not compatible.
Yes, if you're comfortable removing the front bumper on the G20. Standard hand tools, 2–3 hours, no lift required.
