The pre-LCI 1 Series is one of BMW's best-proportioned hatchbacks — but the headlights always dated it. Halogen reflectors or early xenon projectors next to the sharp body lines of an M135i never quite worked. These headlights close that gap with the angular DRL geometry BMW developed for its current M2 — the same family of shapes that now defines the front end of every new BMW coming out of the factory.
This is a complete halogen-to-LED or xenon-to-LED conversion. Full LED projectors, sequential sweeping turn signals, and a startup animation that plays when you unlock the car. Every LED driver and control module comes pre-installed. Just confirm halogen or xenon at checkout — we handle the rest, including adaptive AHL/AFS compatibility.

Halogen & Xenon — Zero Coding
Halogen, bi-xenon (S522A), adaptive AHL/AFS xenon (S524A) — every factory headlight on the pre-LCI F20/F21 is supported. Just select halogen or xenon at checkout. The internal electronics are pre-configured for each harness, including full AFS compatibility. No coding, no error codes, no adapters.

Sequential Turn Signals
The DRL strip doubles as a sweeping sequential indicator — amber flows smoothly across the full width of the headlight when signaling, then reverts to the DRL. The same integrated switchback concept found on BMW's current production models.
LED Projectors with Auto-Leveling
Full LED projectors replace the factory optics with a sharp cutoff line and wide, even coverage. The integrated auto-leveling motor adjusts beam height based on vehicle load.
E-Marked (ECE)
Every unit carries ECE certification covering the full assembly. Road-legal for TÜV, MOT, and EU periodic inspections.
2-Year Warranty
ABS housings with PMMA lenses, sealed against moisture at every joint. Every pair is bench-tested before shipping. Two years of coverage from delivery date.
Startup Animation
When you unlock or start the car, a brief sweeping LED sequence plays through the DRL strip — a welcome effect similar to what BMW uses on its current models. During normal driving, the DRL operates as a steady white strip. The startup animation can be disabled if you prefer a strictly factory appearance.
Installation
A straightforward headlight swap requiring front bumper removal — standard on the F20 platform. No wiring modifications, no coding. Allow 2–3 hours.
- Remove the front bumper to access the headlight mounting bolts.
- Unbolt the factory headlights and disconnect the main harness plug.
- Plug the new headlight into your factory harness.
- Test before reassembly — verify low beam, high beam, DRL, sequential indicators, and startup animation.
- Reinstall the bumper, align beam height using the integrated adjusters.
