Switchable White / Yellow DRL Modules — BMW X5 G05 / X6 G06 & X5 M / X6 M Pre-LCI (Laserlight)
The CSL Yellow on Your Factory Laser Headlights — Four-Module Set — No Coding, Fully Reversible — 2018–2023
BMW X5 G05 • X6 G06 • X5 M F95 • X6 M F96 • Competition • M50i • Pre-LCI • Laserlight Only • OEM 63119477986
The Laserlight headlights already announce themselves — the blue accents inside the housing are BMW's own mark of the top-spec light. This set adds the second signature: both DRL rings per headlight, switchable between clean white and CSL yellow from your high-beam stalk. Four ELERON modules replace the factory units on their original mounting points, an inline control box handles the switching, and nothing is cut, coded, or permanent. On a front end this size, the yellow doesn't whisper.
One set covers the whole car and fits the pre-facelift Laserlight family, which shares these DRL modules: BMW X5 (G05, 2018–2023), X6 (G06, 2019–2023), and the X5 M (F95) and X6 M (F96, 2020–2023, incl. Competition) — BMW uses a single module reference, 63119477986, at all four DRL positions across these cars. Laserlight headlights only: the standard Adaptive LED (non-laser) headlights use a different module, and we make a separate set for those.

Is This Your Headlight?
This set is built for the BMW Laserlight headlights only. The tell is inside the housing: Laserlight units carry blue accents and the "BMW Laser" lettering. The standard Adaptive LED headlights have neither — they use a different DRL module, and we make a separate set for them.
Not compatible: standard Adaptive LED (non-laser) headlights — see our separate DRL set for those — and the facelifted (LCI) models, which use different modules.

How It Works
Each Laserlight headlight runs its two DRL rings through two LED modules — and BMW uses the same module at every position, reference 63119477986, four per car. This set replaces all four with ELERON dual-color units — finished assemblies, LED board bonded to its own aluminum heatsink — on the exact same mounting points, using the original screws. A compact control box then sits inline in the headlight harness: the car-side connector plugs into the box, the box plugs into the headlight, factory male/female connectors on both ends. Nothing is cut, nothing is spliced.
The modules draw the same current and speak the same signals as the factory units, so the car sees nothing unusual: no dashboard warnings, no flicker, and the welcome-light sequence plays exactly as before. The turn indicator lives in its own separate module, which this set doesn't touch.
Why the inline box existsThe stalk-switching logic has to live somewhere, and putting it inside the headlight would mean baking the housing open. The inline box is what keeps this a bolt-and-plug install — it's the part that reads your high-beam stalk and tells the modules which color to run. Stick it anywhere convenient in the engine bay with the supplied tape, away from direct exhaust-manifold heat. (Our complete headlight units carry this logic built in — no box needed there.)
Five modes · One stalk · No app
DRL Control
Every mode switches from your factory high-beam stalk with low beams off. Both DRL rings switch together, and your selection persists through ignition cycles.
-
3×Manual Toggle
Switches between solid White and solid Yellow. Stays set until you change it — through ignition cycles too.
White ~6,000K⇄Yellow ~3,000K CSL -
5×Auto Mode Eleron Exclusive
The DRL follows your low beams — set it once and never touch the toggle again. The same day/night behavior logic as the OEM CSL cars.
Beams off → YellowBeams on → White -
7×Strobe
A left-right progressive strobe in your current color; flash 7× again to strobe the other color. Strictly for a parked car on private ground — flashing forward lights are illegal on public roads in most countries.
Show mode · private ground only -
11×Ambient Breathing
A slow, subtle pulse — the DRL dims in and out. Best at idle or parked at a meet.
dim … bright … dim -
9×Reset
Returns the module to factory White and clears all mode settings — your undo button.

Engineered to Stay on the Car
Built for the Laserlight — Across Four Models
BMW fits the same laser-headlight DRL module to the X5, X6, X5 M and X6 M — so one ELERON set serves the whole pre-LCI family, four modules mounting on the factory points with the original screws. The blue accents and "BMW Laser" lettering inside the housing tell you it's yours.
Zero Coding, Zero Errors
The modules draw the same current and speak the same signals as the factory units, so the car's diagnostics stay clean — no coding, no dashboard warnings, no flicker. The welcome-light sequence is preserved. Plug in, bolt down, done.
Fully Reversible — OEM Stays OEM
Your factory modules come out intact, and the harness is never cut or spliced — the inline box uses factory connectors on both sides. Bolt the originals back in for a lease return, a sale, or a dealer visit: same screws, no residue, no trace.
Turn Signals Untouched
On these headlights, the amber indicator runs through its own separate module — this set never touches it. Flash rate, brightness, and every signal function stay exactly as BMW built them.
Matched Sets — Binned Together
All four modules are color-matched at QC before they ship, so both rings read identical side-to-side and ring-to-ring. Cheap imports often mix LED bins — one ring slightly warmer than the next — and once you've noticed the difference, you can't un-notice it.
Factory Functions Untouched
The DRL is its own circuit. The Laserlight high beam, adaptive functions, high-beam assistant, and welcome-light sequences all keep working exactly as BMW designed — the modules and box never touch those systems.
2-Year Warranty
Two years of coverage from delivery date.
Installation
A bolt-and-plug job with basic hand tools (T20/T25 Torx, 8/10 mm sockets, trim tool). Two modules per side instead of one, but the access is the same. Typical time: 1.5–2 hours for both sides. A shop will quote 1–2 hours of labor.
- Gain access to the back of each headlight. The cleanest route is removing the front wheel and fender liner on each side; taking the front bumper off gives the most working room.
- Disconnect the factory connectors and unbolt both OEM DRL modules on that side.
- Bolt the ELERON modules in their place using the original screws — same mounting points.
- Seat the control box inline in the headlight harness: the car-side connector plugs into the box, and the box plugs into the headlight. Factory connectors on both sides — nothing is cut or spliced.
- Mount the box anywhere convenient in the engine bay with the supplied double-sided tape, away from direct exhaust-manifold heat.
- Test before closing up — verify the 3× White/Yellow toggle and the 5× Auto mode, plus the welcome light.
- Refit the liner (or bumper) and wheel.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes — that's exactly what this set is. Four ELERON modules replace the factory DRL modules inside your existing Laserlight headlights, switching both rings between White and Yellow with no headlight swap, no coding, and no cut wiring.
The pre-facelift Laserlight family, which shares these DRL modules: BMW X5 (G05, 2018–2023), X6 (G06, 2019–2023), and the X5 M (F95) and X6 M (F96, 2020–2023, incl. Competition). Laserlight headlights only — one set covers both headlights, four modules. It does not fit the standard Adaptive LED (non-laser) headlights or the facelifted (LCI) models.
Look inside the housing: Laserlight units carry blue accents and the "BMW Laser" lettering. The standard Adaptive LED headlights have neither. The definitive check is your vehicle order — send us your VIN and we'll confirm in minutes.
No — those headlights use a different DRL module. We make a dedicated set for them; see our non-laser DRL module listing, or send us your VIN and we'll point you to the right one.
Yes. BMW uses the same laser-headlight DRL module — reference 63119477986 — across the X5, X6, X5 M and X6 M. Same part, same set, same install. Driving an X7? Send us your VIN and we'll confirm what fits your headlights.
Not this one — the LCI headlights use different DRL modules. Send us your VIN and we'll tell you what fits your car.
Yes. All four modules switch as one — flick to Yellow and the complete signature changes on both sides.
Untouched. On these headlights the amber indicator runs through its own separate module, which this set doesn't replace — flash rate, brightness, and every signal function stay exactly as BMW built them.
If the fault is a failed DRL module — the usual cause when a ring goes dark and the dash shows a daytime-running-light warning — then yes. These replace the factory modules outright, so a dead OEM module leaves the car with the fault gone and the White/Yellow switching gained. If you suspect wiring damage rather than the module, send us your VIN and symptoms first.
No. The modules draw the same current and speak the same signals as the factory units, so there are no dashboard warnings and nothing to code. The welcome light works as before.
Yes. The DRL is a separate circuit — the Laserlight high beam, adaptive functions, high-beam assistant, and welcome-light sequences all continue working exactly as BMW designed.
Fully reversible. Your factory modules come out intact and the harness is never cut — the inline box uses factory connectors on both sides. Bolt the OEM modules back in with the same screws and the car is exactly as it left the factory.
From the driver's seat, with low beams off: flash the high beams 3 times to toggle between White and Yellow. Five modes total — 5× activates Auto, 7× Strobe, 11× Ambient Breathing, and 9× resets to factory White. Your selection is remembered through ignition cycles.
An ELERON exclusive: flash 5× and the DRL follows your low beams from then on — Yellow when the beams are off, White when they come on. It's the same day/night behavior logic as the OEM CSL cars, and it means you never touch the toggle again.
Yes, if you're comfortable removing a wheel and fender liner. Two modules per side instead of one, but the access is identical — basic hand tools, 1.5–2 hours for both sides, no lift required. A shop will quote 1–2 hours of labor.
It replaces it. That's BMW's own laser-headlight DRL module — a fixed white unit, sold individually, with a full car using four of them. The ELERON set includes all four positions, mounts on the same points with the same screws, and adds the switchable White/Yellow function the OEM part doesn't have.
