Laser-Style Shadow Line LED Headlights — BMW X5 G05 / X6 G06 & X5 M / X6 M Pre-LCI
The Laserlight Look for LED & Adaptive LED Cars — Blue Inlays (Switchable Off) — Shadow Line Finish — White or White / Yellow DRL — Auto-Leveling — No Coding — 2018–2023
BMW X5 G05 • X6 G06 • X5 M F95 • X6 M F96 • Competition • xDrive30d • xDrive40i • xDrive45e • M50i • M50d • Pre-LCI • LED & Adaptive LED • EU & US • 2018–2023
On the G05 generation, the Laserlight option was the one that made the headlights look expensive: the blue inlays, the darker inner architecture, the signature that marks out an M50i from an xDrive30d at twenty metres. Most X5s and X6s were sold without it. These headlights put that look on the LED and Adaptive LED cars that didn't get it — blue inlays, a Shadow Line darkened finish, and something the factory Laserlight never offered: a DRL that switches to CSL yellow.
A complete assembly with every driver and module pre-installed. One version fits both the standard LED and the Adaptive LED headlights, in Europe and North America, and plugs into the factory harness with no coding. The automatic leveling motor is integrated, so beam height follows load exactly as before. The blue inlay illumination can be disabled if you'd rather keep the inlays as an unlit accent.
Fits the BMW X5 G05 (2018–2023), X6 G06 (2019–2023), X5 M F95 and X6 M F96 (2020–2023) before the 2023 facelift, with factory LED or Adaptive LED headlights. Not for cars that already have the factory Laserlight (5AZ) headlights, and not for the 2023+ LCI.

Is This Your Headlight?
One version covers both non-laser factory headlights. Nothing to select — just confirm yours is on the list.
LED Headlights
The standard full-LED unit. No blue accents inside the housing, no "BMW Laser" lettering.
Adaptive LED (552)
The adaptive unit — beams swivel with steering, anti-glare matrix high beam. Same housing look as the standard LED: no blue inside. Standard on US-market cars.
Not for Laserlight carsIf your headlights already carry blue inlays and the "BMW Laser" lettering on the inner trim, you have the factory Laserlight (option 5AZ) — a different harness that this set doesn't fit. You already have the look; for switchable yellow on those headlights, see our G05 Laserlight DRL modules instead.
LED or Adaptive LED — no need to know whichFrom the outside the two are identical, and here it doesn't matter: one version plugs into either harness. If you're curious, adaptive beams track the steering at night; the definitive check is option code 552 on your vehicle order. Every US-market G05 and G06 was built with Adaptive LED or Laserlight — never the standard LED.

Choose Your DRL
Same laser-style housing, same Shadow Line finish, same blue inlays. The difference is whether you can switch the DRL color.
White
The factory Laserlight appearance.
Fixed white DRL (~6,000K). The car reads as a Laserlight-optioned X5 and nothing more needs explaining.
White + Yellow
The CSL signature, on demand.
Flash the high beams 6× for CSL Yellow (~3,000K), 5× to return to White. The headlight remembers your choice through ignition cycles.
DRL Color Switching — White + Yellow Version
From the driver's seat with the high-beam stalk — no app, no remote, no switch in the engine bay. The headlight remembers your selection through ignition cycles.
Switch to Yellow: flash high beams 6×
Switch back to White: flash high beams 5×
The blue inlays — illuminated or not, your callThe blue inlays are a physical trim detail, present with the lights on or off. Their illumination is optional: leave it enabled and the inlays glow blue alongside the DRL, as on a factory Laserlight car; disable it and they stay as an unlit blue accent — handy for an inspection, or anywhere blue forward lighting draws attention. Reversible at any time without opening the headlight.
Engineered to Stay on the Car
LED & Adaptive LED, EU & US — One Version, Zero Coding
The electronics speak the G05's CAN network the way the factory headlights do, on the standard LED harness and the Adaptive LED harness alike, in European and North American spec. No cable, no laptop session, no dealer visit, no error codes — and no version to get wrong at checkout.
The Laserlight Look, Shadow Line Finish
Blue inlays inside a darkened Shadow Line housing — the two cues that mark BMW's top-spec G05 headlights — on cars that left the factory without either. The look of the Laserlight option with LED optics behind it, plus the yellow DRL the factory never offered.
Auto-Leveling Retained
An integrated leveling motor adjusts beam height with vehicle load, exactly as your factory LED units did. Tow, load the boot, carry five: the beam stays where it should.
Ships Complete — Nothing to Transfer
Every LED driver, DRL board, control module and the leveling motor are inside the housing. No modules to unbolt from your factory units — they come off intact, ready for a lease return or resale.
Full LED — Instant-On
Low beam, high beam, DRL and indicators are all LED, with full output the moment you turn the key. On Adaptive LED cars, the factory beam swivel and matrix high beam are replaced by a fixed, wide beam pattern.
Pre-LCI Outline — X5, X6 and the M Cars
BMW fits the same headlights to the X5 G05, X6 G06, X5 M F95 and X6 M F96 before the 2023 facelift. One housing mounts on the factory points of all four — no bumper work, no trim adapters.
2-Year Warranty
ABS housings with PMMA lenses, sealed against moisture at every joint. Every pair is bench-tested before shipping and covered for two years from delivery.
Installation
A headlight swap requiring front bumper removal — standard on the G05 and G06. No wiring modifications, no coding. Allow 2–3 hours; a shop will quote around two hours.
- Remove the front bumper: the fasteners along the top edge under the hood, the screws inside the wheel arches, and the undertray clips. Disconnect the fog light, sensor, camera and washer-jet connections before pulling the bumper forward.
- Unbolt the factory headlights and disconnect the main harness plug.
- Plug the new headlight into your factory harness — the same connector for LED and Adaptive LED cars.
- Decide whether the blue inlay illumination stays enabled before closing up. It can be changed later.
- Test before reassembly — low beam, high beam, DRL, indicators, the 6×/5× color switch on the dual-color version, and the leveling sweep when you switch the ignition on.
- Reinstall the bumper and set the baseline beam height with the adjusters — our headlight aiming guide covers the procedure. The auto-leveling works from that baseline.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes — that's exactly what this set is. It fits the standard LED and the Adaptive LED headlights on the pre-LCI G05, G06, X5 M and X6 M, and gives them the blue inlays and Shadow Line finish of the Laserlight option, plus a switchable yellow DRL if you choose the dual-color version. Plug in, no coding.
Not for ordering — one version plugs into either harness. On Adaptive LED cars the factory beam swivel and matrix high beam are replaced by a fixed, wide beam pattern; auto-leveling is retained on both.
No — the Laserlight harness is different, and you already have the look. For a switchable White/Yellow DRL on factory Laserlight headlights, our G05 Laserlight DRL modules swap into your existing housings.
Yes. BMW fits the same pre-LCI headlights to the X5 G05, X6 G06, X5 M F95 and X6 M F96 — same outline, same mounting points, same harness. One version covers all four.
No. One version fits European and North American cars — every US-market G05 and G06 came with Adaptive LED or Laserlight, and the Adaptive LED harness is covered.
BMW's name for the darkened headlight interior it offers as an Individual option — black inner trim instead of chrome and silver. These headlights are built in that finish, which is what gives the blue inlays their contrast.
Yes. The inlays' illumination is optional: enabled, they glow blue alongside the DRL; disabled, they remain an unlit blue accent. You can change it any time without opening the headlight.
On the dual-color version, from the driver's seat: flash the high beams 6× for CSL Yellow, 5× to return to White. The headlight remembers your selection through ignition cycles. The White version has a fixed DRL.
Yes. The leveling motor is integrated and adjusts beam height with load — the same behavior as the factory headlights. You set the baseline once with the adjusters; the car handles the rest.
No. The 2023 LCI changed the headlight shape and harness. This set is for the pre-LCI cars, 2018–2023.
Nothing. LED drivers, DRL boards, control modules and the leveling motor are all inside the new housing. Your factory headlights stay fully intact.
Yes, if you're comfortable removing the front bumper on the G05. Standard hand tools, 2–3 hours, no lift required. Beam aiming afterwards takes a few minutes with the adjusters.
