The G30's Icon LED headlight gave the 5 Series the angular, geometric DRL that BMW carried across the entire G-generation lineup — the same design language that later showed up on the M5 CS in yellow. These modules let you switch it to CSL yellow from the high-beam stalk in under two seconds, plus strobe, breathing, and an automatic mode tied to your low beams. White is calibrated to match your factory DRL color temperature; the car looks stock at a glance.
Fits Icon LED headlights on pre-LCI 2017–2020 G30/G31 and F90 M5. Does not fit Laser headlights or LCI (2021+). Same module for EU and US markets — no market selection needed.
Is This Your Headlight?
These modules fit the Icon LED headlight on pre-LCI 2017–2020 G30/G31 and F90 M5 — the geometric, angular DRL shape without blue accents inside the housing. If your headlights have blue "L" inlays and a "BMW Laser" script on the lens, you have the Laser headlight, which needs a different product. If your car is a 2021+ LCI, these are not compatible.

Installation
The DRL modules on the G30 Icon headlight sit on the underside of the housing. Reaching them requires removing the front wheels and fender liners, or a full front bumper removal for more working room. Neither method is unusual for this generation — any shop familiar with the G30 will know the access path.
Once you have access: three T20 Torx screws hold each factory module. Back them out, unplug the connector, plug the Eleron module in, secure with the original screws. Test both White and Yellow DRL before closing everything up. A shop will quote 1–2 hours of labor.
Tools: T20 Torx bit, trim removal tool, jack and stands if going the wheel/liner route.
Frequently Asked Questions
Laser headlights have blue accents visible inside the housing and often a "BMW Laser" script etched into the outer lens. Icon LED has no blue accents and no laser script — just the standard geometric DRL shape. Each uses a different DRL connector, so you need to match the product to your headlight type.
