Laser-Look CSL LED Headlights — BMW 3 Series (G20/G21)
Laser-Look Upgrade with Switchable CSL DRL — White / Yellow / Amber / Red — Cornering Lights & Auto-Leveling — 2019–2022
BMW G20 Sedan • G21 Touring • 320i • 330i • M340i • Standard LED (5A2) • Adaptive LED (552) • Pre-LCI • 2019–2022
The Laserlight was the headlight BMW put on the press cars. It was the top-tier option, the one that made the G20 look like the brochure — and the one most owners either didn't spec or couldn't get on the used market. These Laser-Look headlights give you that housing shape with something the factory Laserlight never offered: a switchable CSL DRL in up to three colors.
A direct upgrade for both Standard LED (5A2) and Adaptive LED (552) cars, each with a build matched to its harness. Adaptive LED cars run the Dual Color (White/Yellow) — your factory modules are reused, so AFS beam swivel stays exactly as BMW built it. Standard LED cars run the Tri-Color (White + Yellow + Amber/Red) — a more expensive build to make, included at no premium — with every module pre-installed, and cornering lights gained for the first time. LED projectors, auto-leveling, and zero coding on every version.
Does not fit Laserlight (5AZ) vehicles.
Step 1 — Standard LED or Adaptive LED?
This determines which build you receive. Adaptive headlights swivel the beam when you turn the steering wheel at night — static beams mean Standard LED.

Step 2 — Choose Your DRL Style
One price, every style. Pick the signature you want — we build the correct version for your car. Same Laser-Look housing, LED projectors, and cornering lights throughout.
White (Single Color)
The factory-correct signature.
Crisp white, exactly the way the Laserlight presented itself. Nothing to switch, nothing to explain.
Dual Color — White / Yellow
The CSL signature.
Toggle between clean white and motorsport yellow from the driver's seat. The build we make for Adaptive LED (552) cars — AFS fully retained.
Tri-Color — White / Yellow / Amber
Three signatures in one headlight.
White, yellow, and a deep amber — switch at will. The build we make for Standard LED (5A2) cars, every module pre-installed, included at no extra cost.
Tri-Color — White / Yellow / Red
The boldest signature we make.
White, yellow, and red — the most aggressive front-end look in the range. The build we make for Standard LED (5A2) cars, every module pre-installed, included at no extra cost.

Why two different builds?
Adaptive LED (552) cars reuse their factory modules. Your original headlight electronics are already paired to your car's CAN-bus — unbolt them from the back of your factory headlights, bolt them into the new housings (about 5 minutes and three screws per side), and your BMW doesn't even know the headlights were changed. Zero dashboard errors, and your AFS steering logic is perfectly preserved.
Standard LED (5A2) cars get the fully pre-installed Tri-Color build: the modules ship inside the headlight and emulate the factory CAN-bus signals, so there's nothing to transfer at all. It's the more expensive build to manufacture — the self-contained electronics are what unlock the third DRL color — and it's included for 5A2 cars at no premium. Plug in and drive.
DRL Color Switching
On switchable builds, toggle between DRL colors using your high-beam lever. The headlight retains your selection through ignition cycles.
-
Dual Color (White / Yellow):
Flash high beams 5× to toggle between White and Yellow. -
Tri-Color (White / Yellow / Amber or Red):
5× → White · 6× → Yellow · 7× → Amber or Red
Engineered to Stay on the Car
Laser-Look for Standard & Adaptive LED — Zero Coding
The housing shape that was only available as the top-tier 5AZ option from the factory, now as a direct-fit upgrade for both Standard LED (5A2) and Adaptive LED (552) cars. Each build carries the correct CAN-bus electronics for its harness — plug-and-play, no coding, no dashboard errors, on either.
Switchable CSL DRL — Up to Three Colors
The laser-etched CSL light guide runs white, yellow, and — on the tri-color builds — amber or red, switched from the driver's seat with the high-beam lever. A signature the factory Laserlight never offered at any price.
Cornering Lights on Every Build
A static inner LED activates with the turn signal, illuminating the inside of the corner as you turn. If your car has Standard LED (5A2) headlights, this is a functional upgrade you didn't have before.
LED Projectors with Auto-Leveling
Full LED projectors with a sharp cutoff line and wide, even coverage. The integrated auto-leveling motor adjusts beam height based on vehicle load — the same system your factory headlights use.
Sealed Construction
ABS housings with PMMA lenses, sealed against moisture at every joint. Every pair is bench-tested before shipping.
2-Year Warranty
Two years of coverage from delivery date.
Installation
Front bumper removal is required — standard on the G20. No wiring modifications, no coding on any build. Allow 2–3 hours total.
- Remove the front bumper to access the headlight mounting bolts.
- Unbolt the factory headlights and disconnect the main harness plug.
- Adaptive LED (552) cars: Unbolt the electronic modules from the back of your factory headlights and bolt them into the new housings (~5 minutes per side). Standard LED (5A2) cars skip this step — modules are pre-installed.
- Plug the new headlight into your factory harness.
- Test before reassembly — verify low beam, high beam, DRL (and color switching), cornering light, and indicators.
- Reinstall the bumper, align beam height using the integrated adjusters.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. The G20 Sedan and G21 Touring share identical headlight mounting points and connectors.
The housing shape is the Laser-Look design that was exclusive to the 5AZ option from the factory. The internal optics are LED projectors rather than BMW's laser+LED hybrid module — which means you get the same visual presence with the added benefit of a switchable CSL DRL that the real 5AZ never offered.
Yes. This is the direct path from Standard LED (5A2) or Adaptive LED (552) to the Laser-Look housing — plug-and-play, no coding, no retrofitting of factory Laserlight modules or wiring. Standard LED cars also gain cornering lights.
It follows your factory headlights. Adaptive LED (552) cars receive the Dual Color (White/Yellow) build — your factory modules are reused and AFS is fully retained. Standard LED (5A2) cars receive the Tri-Color (White + Yellow + Amber/Red) build with every module pre-installed.
Because the build follows your car, not the menu. The Tri-Color is the more expensive version to manufacture — its self-contained electronics are what unlock the third color — and it's what every Standard LED (5A2) car receives, included at no premium. Adaptive LED (552) cars get the module-reuse Dual Color build with AFS fully retained. One price, and each car gets the right engineering.
Only the third DRL color. Both are White + Yellow plus your choice of a deep amber or a red as the third signature. Same housing, same projectors, same fitment, same price.
Yes. Your original modules move into the new housings, so the factory AFS steering logic stays exactly as BMW built it. The transfer takes about 5 minutes and three screws per side.
The Dual Color is the build we make for Adaptive LED cars, because reusing your factory modules is what keeps AFS fully intact. If you specifically want a tri-color signature on an adaptive car, contact us before ordering and we'll advise on the trade-offs.
The Laser-Look housing, the switchable tri-color CSL DRL, and cornering lights — a feature your factory headlights never had. Everything ships pre-installed: plug in and drive.
No. Laserlight vehicles use a different connector that is not compatible.
Yes, if you're comfortable removing the front bumper on the G20. Standard hand tools, 2–3 hours, no lift required.
